What You’ll Actually Do
• New Business Generation: Drive new business by actively identifying, thoroughly qualifying, and developing new partnership opportunities for Affirm’s expanding platform.
• Sales Strategy Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Account Executives and the broader Sales and Business Development team to strategize creative outreach campaigns and prioritize outreach efforts based on potential impact.
• Pipeline Management: Manage the initial stages of the Sales and Business Development pipeline, which includes performing cold outreach and nurturing leads acquired through various inbound channels, such as phone, email, and social media.
• Partner Engagement & Education: Engage potential partners to understand their specific goals and challenges, then effectively educate them on the distinct value and benefits that Affirm provides.
• Core Business Growth: Contribute significantly to Affirm’s ongoing growth by supporting the scaling of its core business and product offerings.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s Degree or demonstrably equivalent professional experience is a foundational requirement for this early career position.
• Experience: Candidates must possess at least one year of prior Business Development Associate experience specifically within an outbound sales capacity, with a strong focus on prospecting cold leads. A demonstrated ability to consistently succeed in a quota-carrying role is essential.
• Skills: Excellent communication skills are required, alongside the ability to manage time efficiently and maintain a high degree of detail-orientation. This role demands collaboration with multiple internal non-sales teams, including legal, merchant risk, and marketing, and the capacity to think creatively and critically within a frequently ambiguous work environment.
