What You’ll Actually Do
• Requirements Analysis and Translation: Work directly with product and operations teams, who own the business or operational requirements, to analyze these needs and translate them into robust technical solutions for a broad range of products including FX, payment, collection, liquidity, channel, and reporting.
• Process and System Design Leadership: Collaborate closely with both product and operations teams to define the ‘to-be’ processes and the target system functional landscape, aimed at promoting significant digitization and standardization of product and service offerings. This includes providing global and regional solutions by leveraging a deep understanding of the payments and cash management domain and insights into the evolving application landscape.
• Solution Design and Documentation: Drive the process of requirements analysis and solution design with both 3rd party vendors and in-house system teams. This involves ensuring user requirements are meticulously designed, system functionalities align with industry norms and standards, and impacts to existing systems are comprehensively assessed. Furthermore, document and review both the conceptual and detailed designs of the solution, encompassing elements like GUI, message mapping, payment workflows, and exception handling, while liaising with relevant architects and global business process owners in the Tokyo Head Office.
• Testing and Production Support: Provide critical inputs to the Testing Centre of Excellence (TCoE) for the design of functional and interface tests, whether for stand-alone systems or end-to-end system flows. Actively participate in and drive production incident management to assess customer impacts and support recovery, and contribute to production problem management by recommending permanent fixes in payment systems or upstream systems. This also involves maintaining up-to-date system documentation based on project releases, maintenance, and bugfix activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A minimum of 7 years of experience as a business analyst, specifically specializing in the successful implementation of payments and/or cash management solutions within the transaction banking business across the APAC region.
• Experience: Proven track record as a Business Analyst in regional and global system implementations, having been part of the full project lifecycle from inception through to post-production support. This includes hands-on working knowledge of domestic and cross-border payment schemes, as well as clearing and settlement mechanisms prevalent in the APAC region, along with experience in online and batch-based system architecture.
• Skills: Minimum JLPT N1 Certification (or equivalent business-level Japanese proficiency) is essential for effective communication with stakeholders in the Tokyo Head Office. Demonstrated high level of technical competency in SQL, strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
