Finance/Accounting Intern | La Jolla LASIK Institute

The Tone:
This is an unpaid internship at La Jolla LASIK Institute, located in La Jolla, California. This role is crucial for the institute’s continued growth, offering an intern the opportunity to learn to manage and lead a finance team. What You’ll Actually Do
• Key Performance Indicators: Develop, create, and track daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly key performance indicators.
• Filing Systems: Ensure all electronic and paper filing systems are current and well organized.
• Budgeting Process: Create a new budgeting process that also tracks actual expenses.
• Software Analysis: Analyze current software, recommend any changes, and implement those recommendations.
• Financial Accuracy: Work with the bookkeeper to ensure the accuracy of financial statements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level position, typically for a student majoring in Accounting, Economics, Management Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Experience: Previous experience in accounting is required.
• Skills: Strong ability in Excel, excellent analytic skills with strong attention to detail, great communication skills, and strong computer skills, specifically with GSuite programs.
• Bonus: Experience with Quickbooks is a plus.
