Job Description:
Position Title: BTS Arts Internship

Campus Location: Off Campus (specifically, elementary schools in the WSU service area)
Hours per week: 2-6 hours
Months per year: 4 months (per semester)
Hourly Pay Rate: $15.00
Job Summary/Basic Function:
This internship offers participants the opportunity to learn about arts integration and gain practical experience with the BTS Arts program. It serves as a stepping stone for future BTS Arts positions. BTS Arts is a statewide arts integration program funded by the Utah State Board of Education, placing highly-qualified arts educators in elementary schools. WSU supports this initiative through its Arts Learning Collaborative. The program is growing significantly, with an estimated 48-96 new BTS Arts educators to be hired in the next 7 years within the WSU service area (Davis School District, Weber School District, Ogden School District, and surrounding charter schools). These potential future teaching positions will be in music, dance, drama, and visual art, can be part-time or full-time, and offer the chance to earn required teaching licenses and arts endorsements while working.
Internship Details:
• The internship is paid at $15 per hour.
• Positions are available in elementary (K-6) music, dance, drama, and visual art.
Scheduling Details:
• Flexible scheduling is offered.
• Interns will work a maximum of 20 hours per semester.
Required Qualifications:
• Basic art form knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines: dance, music, drama, or visual art.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous teaching experience.
Background Check: Not required for this internship.
