What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Management: Meticulously record all daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, and systematically reconcile various accounts to ensure data consistency and accuracy across all ledgers.
• Financial Reporting: Take ownership of preparing and thoroughly reviewing comprehensive financial reports, providing clear, actionable insights for both internal management and external reporting requirements.
• Payment & Expense Processing: Efficiently process all incoming invoices and outgoing payments, managing cash flow effectively, and diligently track every company expense to support budget adherence and financial analysis.
• Payroll & Cost Tracking Support: Provide essential assistance with payroll processing and job cost tracking activities, ensuring accurate allocation of expenses and labor costs to specific projects as required.
• Closing & Collaboration: Actively support all phases of month-end and year-end closing activities, collaborating closely with management to analyze financial data and contribute insights that drive strategic business decisions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Possession of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field, or demonstrable equivalent relevant experience that includes a strong foundation in core bookkeeping principles and financial practices.
• Experience: Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of accounting software and systems, complemented by hands-on experience in accurately entering and managing journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
• Skills: Ability to prepare, review, and interpret critical financial statements for both internal operational oversight and external compliance reporting. Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills, vital for managing multiple financial tasks and consistently meeting strict deadlines. Effective and clear communication skills, fostering seamless collaboration with both office administrative staff and field project teams.
• Bonus: Prior experience in bookkeeping specifically within the construction or trades industry is highly advantageous, though not a strict requirement for consideration.
