The TL;DR
• Mission: Maintain the financial integrity and operational efficiency of the firm by ensuring all financial records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with relevant regulations.
• Tech Stack: QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel
What You’ll Actually Do
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ledgers, and supporting documentation to ensure data integrity and facilitate precise financial oversight.
• Account Reconciliation: Record daily transactions and perform comprehensive monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to verify accuracy across all financial records and promptly resolve discrepancies.
• Financial Operations: Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoicing clients, processing payments, and collecting outstanding balances, while also monitoring cash flow and assisting with forecasting financial needs.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review financial reports, statements, and summaries for management review, and assist in preparing budgets, tracking expenses, and analyzing financial data to support strategic decision-making.
• Compliance & Audits: Support payroll processing and tax filings, and respond to audit requests, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory standards and maintaining organized internal controls.
The Must-Haves
• Background: An Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential, with a Bachelor’s degree being preferred. Candidates must have proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
• Skills & Knowledge: Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel is mandatory, alongside a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and core bookkeeping practices.
• Financial Processes: Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing processes, and bank reconciliations is highly desirable. Candidates should also possess excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Bonus: Experience with payroll processing and tax regulations is preferred. CPA certification is a plus but not mandatory.
