Block Clerk | Carvana
The Tone:
This is a part-time role at ADESA, a Carvana-owned company, operating at one of over 50 locations across the US. ADESA manages large auto auctions, providing a wide array of vehicle services like repair, reconditioning, and auction remarketing for hundreds of thousands of vehicles, serving as critical market hub distribution centers. This position is vital for ensuring the efficient and accurate entry of sale information for in-lane and online LiveBlock transactions, directly supporting the core auction process. The TL;DR

• Type: Part Time on Wednesdays from 8:00am to 12:00pm
• Location: In-person
• Pay: $17 hourly
• Team: Reports to the Office Manager or other designated manager
• Mission: Ensure efficient and accurate information transfer for in-lane and online LiveBlock transactions.
• Tech Stack: LiveBlock system, AMS data, computer systems and applications
What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Interaction: Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous attention to customers, including resolving complaints in a friendly manner and advising management of serious incidents.
• Sale Data Management: Accurately review pre-populated AMS data, enter missing or modified announcements, and input sale data (price, bid badge, if-bids) into the LiveBlock system by monitoring auctioneers and internet bids.
• Accuracy Assurance: Ensure precise recording of sale prices and bidder numbers, documenting any corrections on the appropriate form for manager review.
• Operational Coordination: Maintain clear communication with auctioneers and dealer representatives to facilitate smooth transaction flow and attend informational meetings for system updates.
• Safety & Maintenance: Monitor working area conditions and equipment to ensure cleanliness, proper maintenance, and safety, promptly reporting breakdown needs and responding to accidents.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career, ideally possessing a High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Requires at least one (1) year of clerical experience, including basic computer and data entry skills. Candidates must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license that meets company requirements.
• Skills: Strong customer service, a high degree of safety focus, proven ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with various computer systems and applications is essential, alongside the ability to safely drive a variety of make/model/sizes of vehicles.
