Job Title: BI Architecture Intern
Overview/Purpose:
The BI Architecture Intern will contribute to enterprise data governance initiatives. This internship is primarily focused on standardizing naming conventions across various data objects. It offers a practical, hands-on experience working directly with BI architects and data engineering teams, with the goal of ensuring consistency, clarity, and scalability within the company’s data environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaboration: Work in conjunction with BI and data architects to establish standardized naming conventions for different data objects, including tables and views.
• Documentation & Communication: Clearly document these defined naming standards and effectively communicate them to all relevant stakeholders across the organization.
• Implementation Support: Collaborate closely with the data engineering team to implement the approved naming conventions within the company’s existing data assets.
• Compliance Efforts: Assist in identifying any inconsistencies in current data assets and support initiatives aimed at bringing legacy assets into compliance with the new standards.
• Team Participation: Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions focused on improving data architecture.
Qualifications:
• Availability: Must be able to work 30 hours per week. A minimum of 2 days per week (Tuesday – Thursday) must be worked on-site.
• Education: Completion of junior year is preferred. Candidates must be currently enrolled in college for the upcoming semester. Graduate students are also encouraged to apply.
• Location: Must reside within a commutable distance to the home office located in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
• Academic Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a closely related field.
• Technical Skills: Possess a basic understanding of data structures, relational databases, and SQL.
• Core Competencies: Demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Exhibit effective communication and collaboration abilities.
• Interest: Show a keen interest in data governance, business intelligence, or data architecture.
