Benefits Intern | ECS

The Tone:
This is an internship at ECS. As an integral member of the HR team, this role will provide hands-on experience in the programs and initiatives that support employee well-being and engagement within the organization. ECS aims to design, administer, and communicate benefits that make a meaningful difference in employees’ lives. This position is a unique opportunity to learn how organizations manage Total Rewards and contribute positively to the overall employee experience.

• Tech Stack: HRIS and benefits systems, AI and automation tools, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

What You’ll Actually Do
• Benefits Administration: Assist with day-to-day benefits administration activities, including employee enrollments, status changes, and benefit terminations, while supporting the maintenance of accurate employee benefits records within HRIS.
• Communications & Resources: Help prepare and distribute benefits communications, educational materials, and enrollment resources, including supporting the development of employee-facing FAQs and knowledge articles.
• Technology & Efficiency: Assist with evaluating and leveraging AI and automation tools to improve benefits communications, employee self-service, and administrative efficiency.
• Audits & Reporting: Support benefits audits, reconciliations, and reporting activities, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
• Program & Project Support: Contribute to open enrollment planning, communications, and employee engagement initiatives, including the coordination of wellness programs and participation in special Total Rewards projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate with a strong interest in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, Total Rewards, or the broader Employee Experience.
• Skills: Candidates must demonstrate strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. The capacity to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and to use technology responsibly while maintaining data privacy is also essential.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include currently pursuing or having recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, as well as previous internship, campus leadership, or administrative experience.
