Overview of the Internship
This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in the mental and behavioral health field, working directly with clients and families under the guidance of experienced professionals. Interns will provide essential skills-based services, contribute to client progress, and collaborate within a supportive multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
As a Behavioral Health Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting clients and families by:
• Providing skills-based services tailored to client needs, such as coping skills education and parenting skills training.
• Working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and/or adults, as assigned.
• Connecting families to vital community resources based on their identified needs.
• Collaborating effectively with other Georgia HOPE/HCA staff and community partners to ensure comprehensive treatment, efficient service provision, and collaborative case management.
• Accurately documenting case notes and client interactions within the online electronic medical record system (CareLogic).
• Actively participating in regular team meetings to discuss cases, strategies, and professional development.
• Attending agency trainings as needed to enhance skills and knowledge.

Intern Position Requirements
We are looking for motivated individuals who meet the following qualifications:
• Currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services-related field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Human Development).
• Possess basic computer skills, including familiarity with using the internet and Microsoft Word.
• Ability to navigate and utilize an online electronic medical record system (CareLogic) effectively (training will be provided).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet client needs and documentation requirements.
• Capability to function as a valuable member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team, working cooperatively with other agency employees.
• Commitment to conducting oneself professionally and ethically with clients, co-workers, and community partners at all times.
