As a Banking Adviser, you will be the friendly and approachable face of Westpac, transforming routine banking tasks into genuinely positive experiences for customers. Your primary goal is to create memorable “wow” moments daily, whether you are assisting new customers in opening their first account, guiding small business owners through significant financial decisions, or proactively identifying and addressing customers’ unspoken needs to enhance their financial confidence and control.
This role requires a blend of curiosity, warmth, and sharp listening skills to effectively match customers with the most suitable products, tools, and advice, thereby simplifying and empowering their financial lives.
You will excel in this position if you possess a strong affinity for people, enjoy tackling challenges, and are committed to being an active part of the community. Key responsibilities include:
- Championing digital banking solutions.
- Deepening relationships with existing customers.
- Welcoming new customers into the Westpac whānau.
- Contributing to Westpac’s growth and presence in the local neighbourhood.
- Providing steady, trusted guidance across a range of services, including everyday banking, KiwiSaver, and insurance.
- Actively contributing to Westpac’s mission to be truly customer-obsessed.

Essential Requirements:
- 2+ years’ experience in a customer-focused role.
- Confident, engaging communication skills and the ability to build trust rapidly.
- Proven problem-solving skills and an aptitude for uncovering customer needs.
- Digital confidence, with the capability to coach customers in using various tools and technology.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical decision-making.
Desired (but not essential) Requirement:
- Strong knowledge of banking products, services, and regulatory requirements.
