What You’ll Actually Do
• Research & Data: Conduct field surveys, investigations, and collect data to support airport planning studies.
• Collaboration & Reporting: Consult with fellow employees and senior staff to compile, interpret, and present research data for airport planning studies, and prepare draft report sections.
• Data Visualization: Assist in developing, formatting, publishing, and distributing tables, charts, manuals, and maps related to airport planning studies.
• Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and written recommendations on various airport planning studies.
• Data Management: Develop and maintain electronic data sets and files, and troubleshoot existing analysis tools and programs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Aviation Management, Urban Planning, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics.
• Experience: 0-3 years of increasingly responsible experience in airport planning or a related field; familiarity with the aviation industry or a strong desire to learn and grow within the field.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars, Engineering Briefs, and other industry planning/design guidance documents.
• Bonus: Master’s degree in a field such as Engineering, Architecture, Planning, Aviation Management, Urban Planning, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, or Economics; working knowledge of best practices and principles in strategic planning, infrastructure and facilities planning, and operational research for airports; ability to apply management, business, marketing, and administration principles; knowledge and experience with analytical techniques and related tools including statistical, spreadsheet, database, simulation, spatial/graphical analysis applications (AutoCAD, REVIT, GIS, 3DS Max), or modeling tools (VISSIM, SketchUp, AviPlan); demonstrated self-motivation, detail-orientation, proactive and effective communication skills, and strong organizational abilities.
