Automation Quality Engineering Intern | Ironclad
The Tone:
This is an internship at Ironclad, located in San Francisco, CA (hybrid role). • Team: Embeds in a cross-functional product team (engineering, product, design, QE)
• Mission: Designs, builds, and ships automated tests and expands automation frameworks to ensure product quality and enable efficient delivery.
• Tech Stack: TypeScript, React, Node.js, Java, Docker, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Design: Design, build, and ship automated tests as part of a cross‑functional product team.
• Collaborate: Collaborate with mentors and teammates to break down ambiguous problems into clear, scoped projects you can execute on.
• Code: Write clean, maintainable, and well‑tested code in Typescript, and participate in code reviews.
• Scale: Learn how to scale and maintain a reliable test suite that enables developers to deliver with quality and velocity.
• Build: Build tooling and expand automation frameworks to enable efficiencies in product teams and making automated tests as self-serve as possible.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, with an expected graduation date after the internship term. Foundational knowledge in computer science and software engineering, including data structures, algorithms, and basic systems or web concepts.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience through projects, internships, hackathons, or open‑source contributions where you shipped something real and iterated based on feedback.
• Skills: Comfortable programming in JavaScript/TypeScript. Strong problem‑solving skills and a bias toward action. Clear, kind communication, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical partners.
• Bonus: Curious about software quality, test automation, and reliability. Interested in learning Ironclad’s stack on the job. Excited to learn about contracts, legal workflows, and AI‑powered productivity tools. Experience with TypeScript, React, Node.js, Java, Docker, Kubernetes, or Google Cloud Platform.
