Paid Intern – Summer 2027 (Auditing Department) | The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The Tone:
This is a seasonal paid internship at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at Church headquarters, inferring Salt Lake City, UT, with opportunities for domestic and international travel. The Church operates a vast global organization encompassing numerous not-for-profit and for-profit entities, dedicated to furthering the Lord’s work, from media and humanitarian aid to temples, family history, and higher education. This role contributes to safeguarding Church assets and ensuring proper order by evaluating risks and controls across its diverse operations. Interns will gain valuable experience in a professional environment that places a high priority on balancing family, Church, and personal time with work responsibilities, while offering unique insights into auditing a multinational religious institution and directly contributing to His kingdom.

• Mission: Evaluate risks and controls throughout Church affiliated companies to give assurance to management that they are in proper order and help protect assets of the Church.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Complete assigned audit tasks, adhering to rigid and challenging deadlines with full attention to detail.
• Work in harmony with team members to collaborate effectively and devise optimal solutions for clients.
• Conduct evaluations of risks and controls across a diverse range of Church affiliated companies and global operations.
• Assist in auditing the operations, controls, and financial statements of a multinational Church organization, including not-for-profit and for-profit entities.
• Travel both domestically and internationally to various Church operations, associating with management and dedicated Church members across the globe.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Requires 3+ years of college coursework completed as an accounting or data science major.
• Experience: Eligible for a paid internship while currently enrolled in an educational institution or within one year following graduation; must be available to travel as part of the internship.
• Skills: Strong analytical capabilities; excellent written communication and presentation skills; sound judgment regarding Church doctrine, history, organization, policy, and protocol; and membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (worthy of a temple recommend).
• Bonus: Master of Accountancy candidates preferred.
