Audit Summer 2028 Internship – San Diego, CA | CohnReznick

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Seasonal (June-August 2028)
• Location: Hybrid, San Diego, CA (average 3 days a week in-office/together in person)
• Pay: $34 hourly
• Team: Works closely on a team made up of other Interns, Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners.
• Mission: Support audit teams by gaining hands-on experience with accounting and auditing practices.
• Tech Stack: Excel, PowerPoint

What You’ll Actually Do
• Audit Engagement: Work on all aspects of an audit engagement, including managing cash, performing bank reconciliations, handling accounts payable, searching for unrecorded liabilities, maintaining confirmation logs, and preparing audit work papers.
• Financial Services Support: Assist with audits, reviews, compilations, and accounting services for diverse clients across various industries.
• Issue Resolution: Resolve audit issues by obtaining necessary evidence and making inquiries of clients, while actively assisting the team with daily client workflow.
• Project Collaboration: Team up with other interns and professionals for hands-on projects, building real-world skills while expanding your professional network and positioning you for success in the industry.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting; Entry-Level career. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Experience: On track to complete 150 credit hours for CPA eligibility; successfully completed Intermediate Accounting with a grade of B or higher.
• Skills: Exhibit excellent communication skills, demonstrate sharp critical thinking, comfortable navigating fast-paced environments, embrace change, advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, and eager to learn new technologies.
• Bonus: Minimum 3.2 GPA in both major and overall; leadership experience in student groups, activities, or team projects.
