What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Needs Analysis: Understand and analyze clients’ unique needs, expectations, business models, and industry landscapes. This includes gaining insight into their accounting and control systems, company values, and employees, alongside relevant GAAP and GAAS issues.
• Audit Methodology Application: Develop a comprehensive understanding and practical application of the proprietary RSM audit approach and tools used across engagements.
• Risk and Control Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments of client-specific risks and evaluate the effectiveness of their internal control structures to ensure financial integrity.
• Substantive and Control Testing: Perform detailed substantive tests and tests of internal controls designed to identify, analyze, and ultimately resolve complex accounting or reporting issues encountered during audits.
• Financial Statement Preparation: Draft accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with prescribed formats and regulatory requirements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level internship opportunity requiring candidates to be actively working towards a B.A. / B.S. degree or an equivalent qualification from an accredited university, with an academic focus on Accounting.
• Experience: Candidates must have completed a minimum of 90 credit hours towards their degree. The role requires travel to assigned client locations, necessitating access to and the ability to arrange for reliable modes of transportation.
• Skills: A strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles and practices, typically gained through an Accounting Major, is essential for understanding and applying audit concepts.
• Bonus: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is preferred for this role.
