The TL;DR

• Location: In-person – Various Wipfli offices or client sites

• Mission: Utilize educational knowledge and experience to perform diverse accounting responsibilities and support client engagements as an individual contributor and team member.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Respond: Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive, and professional manner.
• Gather: Work with clients to gather necessary information and respond to inquiries for the completion of required documents.
• Analyze: Apply data analysis skills to discover useful information and patterns, providing support for recommendations and identifying process improvement opportunities.
• Test: Perform audit, review, and compliance testing procedures in accordance with firm and professional standards, as directed by engagement leaders.
• Prepare: Prepare financial statements, footnotes, management reports, and other required engagement outputs, often reviewing client-prepared documents.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, with completion of a corporate or individual taxation class, to qualify for this entry-level internship position.
• Experience: Demonstrated above-average competency in accounting, evidenced by a minimum 3.2 college GPA, and actively working towards eligibility to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation.
• Skills: Ability to think independently and make sound decisions based on education and experience; strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients and staff; and the capacity to prioritize work, follow through on requests, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
• Bonus: Preferred coursework or a strong interest in Data Analytics or Big Data.
