This is an Audit Spring Internship at Withum, located in various office locations across the firm’s footprint. • Mission: This intern will support the auditing team by assisting with financial reviews, data analysis, and compliance checks, thereby gaining valuable hands-on public accounting experience and direct exposure to internal controls, financial reporting, and regulatory standards within various industries.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Statement Review: Analyze and comprehensively review client accounting records and financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Internal Control Evaluation: Evaluate internal control systems, assess audit risk, determine materiality, and ensure compliance with established auditing standards through detailed inquiry, observation, and review processes.
• Workpaper Preparation: Assist the audit team in preparing detailed workpapers, which serve as crucial documentation supporting all performed audit procedures and findings.
• Substantive Testing: Perform substantive testing and analytical review procedures on financial data to validate balances and transactions, identifying potential discrepancies or areas for further investigation.
• Client Engagement & Projects: Assist actively with client engagements and other assigned projects, providing opportunities to gain broad exposure to various industries and diverse business environments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level, for students actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree as a Junior or Senior in Accounting or a Business-related field, or an MBA candidate enrolled in an Accounting track program.
• Experience: No prior professional experience is explicitly required, but candidates must be able to commit to working a minimum of 20-40 hours per week during the internship period.
• Skills: Strong analytical abilities for data analysis, proficiency in computer skills for various software applications, and excellent interpersonal skills for team collaboration and client interaction.
• Bonus: A preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher is considered a strong asset for this role.
