Audit Intern | MEMIC
The Tone:
This is an engaging internship at MEMIC, designed to immerse a curious and detail-oriented individual into the full audit lifecycle. Interns will gain a front-row seat to understanding how various pieces of a process fit together by rotating through four distinct audit teams. The role emphasizes hands-on contributions, including shadowing experts, updating real Standard Operating Procedures, and assisting in the creation of the official audit manual used throughout the organization. This experience is critical for strengthening internal documentation and enhancing the overall efficiency of audit operations at MEMIC.

What You’ll Actually Do
• SOP Enhancement: Review and meticulously update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all four audit teams, including Technical & Specialty Audit, Audit Operations, Audit Analysts, and the Physical Audit Team, ensuring accuracy and consistency based on observed processes.
• Documentation Management: Systematically add missing documentation to SharePoint, review existing materials for completeness, and ensure all audit-related content is readily accessible and current.
• Process Identification: Proactively identify procedural gaps within each department’s audit processes and compile a detailed list of missing documentation and unaddressed procedures requiring creation.
• Manual Development: Collaborate directly with management and experienced team members to contribute foundational content and insights towards building the official, comprehensive audit manual for the entire organization.
• Internship Synthesis: Conclude the internship by synthesizing findings from all rotations, summarizing key observations, presenting finalized SOP updates, and outlining recommendations for continuous process improvement.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s degree or higher currently in pursuit.
• Experience: Demonstrated comfort and proficiency with Microsoft tools, including Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
• Skills: Possesses strong organizational abilities, self-direction, adaptability, and excellent time management. Exhibits keen attention to detail and clear verbal and written communication skills.
