• Mission: To support the auditing team by assisting with financial reviews, data analysis, and compliance checks, thereby providing hands-on experience in accounting and auditing with exposure to internal controls, financial reporting, and regulatory standards.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze: Review client accounting records and financial statements.
• Evaluate: Assess internal control systems, audit risk, materiality, and compliance with auditing standards through inquiry, observation, and review.
• Prepare: Assist in drafting detailed workpapers that support audit procedures.
• Perform: Conduct substantive testing and analytical review procedures.
• Support: Aid with client engagements and other assigned projects, gaining exposure to various industries and business environments.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates for this entry-level internship role should be a Junior or Senior Accounting Major or a Business-related major. Alternatively, MBA Candidates in an Accounting track program are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience: Ability to commit to working a minimum of 20-40 hours per week is required. Furthermore, the intern must be able to reliably commute to one of Withum’s office locations, as this is an in-person position.
• Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal skills for client and team interactions, alongside strong computer skills essential for data analysis and reporting tasks.
• Bonus: A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred for this role.
