Job Description: Audit Intern

This internship is currently only open to students from specific universities (Baylor University, Louisiana State University, Sam Houston State University, Southern Methodist University, Stephen F. Austin University, Texas Lutheran University, Texas State University – San Marcos, Texas Tech University, University of Houston, University of Mississippi – Ole Miss, University of North Texas – Denton, University of Texas at Austin, University of Texas at Dallas) due to their earlier recruiting cycles.

As an intern in Crowe’s Audit and Assurance practice, you will gain in-depth exposure to the auditing profession. You’ll work closely with experienced professionals, learning about daily responsibilities and current industry issues.

Responsibilities include:

• Auditing client financials, transactions, and internal control processes.
• Sharpening analytical skills through data analysis using advanced analytics, data visualizations, and process flow automation tools.
• Working independently and collaboratively with a diverse team.
• Delivering exceptional audit client service.
• Working on diverse client engagements across various industries (manufacturing and distribution, not-for-profit, government, healthcare, education, construction, dealerships, food and agriculture, insurance, and financial institutions).
• Potential involvement in benefit plan audits (401k, pension, or employee stock ownership plans).
• Taking initiative and seeking on-the-job learning opportunities.

Skills and Requirements:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting or a similar field.
• CPA-eligible (150 credit hours) by graduation.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Experience with data analytics (strongly desired).
• Relevant work experience (internships, summer positions, school jobs).
• Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel.

Compensation: The estimated hourly wage range is $27.00 – $42.00, but actual compensation depends on various factors including skills, experience, and other business needs.
