What You’ll Actually Do
• Internal Control Evaluation: Assist with the study and evaluation of internal accounting controls, including testing compliance where appropriate.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Client Account Reconciliation: Examine client reconciliations for bank accounts and subsidiary accounts, diligently investigating and documenting any discrepancies.
• Tax Preparation & Planning: Prepare a variety of S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnership, Multi-State, Individual, trust, and estate tax returns, while interacting with clients to provide tax planning and compliance services.
• Tax Law Adherence: Stay up-to-date with current tax laws and regulations to provide tax minimization strategies while maintaining strict adherence to government regulations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree with a major or concentration in accounting. Career level: Entry-Level.
• Experience: Entry-level role, comfortable with the demands of an accounting firm, including necessary overnight travel, potential weekend work, and the ability to adapt to varying workloads as deadlines approach.
• Skills:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, maintaining professional appearance, attitude, and conduct.
• Well-rounded knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and generally accepted auditing standards.
• Working knowledge of Federal and state income tax laws and regulations.
• Established practice of accuracy in dealing with numeric and alphabetic information.
• Proficiency in using available resources such as firm manuals and computer software.
• An awareness of current developments within the accounting profession.
• Bonus: Currently working towards completing the CPA exam.
