This position is central to supporting MUFG’s broader Capital Markets Group (CMG) by managing the execution of Australian Dollar (AUD) bond issues and providing essential origination support. The Director plays a crucial role in contributing to the global CMG business, which spans Investment Grade, Specialised Finance, and Leveraged Capital Markets. What You’ll Actually Do
• AUD Bond Management: Manage the AUD bond syndicate function, taking full responsibility for executing all AUD primary bond issues for MUFG’s global Capital Markets Group clients. This includes supporting MUFG’s broader CMG business which operates globally across Investment Grade, Specialised Finance, and Leveraged Capital Markets.
• Market Expertise & Strategy: Determine appropriate pricing for bond issues, assess market liquidity, and define the comprehensive distribution strategy. Maintain a strong understanding of AUD bond and macro market fundamentals, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of investor requirements regarding risk appetite, structure, and pricing to support origination teams in pitching for new business.
• Client Engagement: Work in partnership with origination colleagues across all regions to develop and broaden the overall relationship with core clients. Provide high-quality support and a product interface with regards to capital markets financing opportunities, ensuring client needs are met.
• Internal Collaboration: Collaborate closely with MUFG distribution teams, other regional and global syndicate teams to optimize financing solutions and roll out MUFG’s originate-to-distribute strategy. Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network, ensuring appropriate engagement and support to develop, secure, and maximise product opportunities and effective inter-departmental collaboration.
• Deal Execution & Efficiency: Manage the entire information flow and deal execution process through its different stages, from initial investor marketing, execution strategy, bookbuild, and launch/pricing. Develop a practical understanding of all core systems and procedures within CMG to identify and implement efficiencies and improvements where possible.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor and/or Masters Degree(s) in Commerce, Finance, or business-related fields.
• Experience: 10 years of work experience in AUD Bond Markets.
• Skills: Analytical ability with attention to detail, capacity to work in teams and autonomously, and a commercial perspective with strong understanding of AUD bonds markets.
• Bonus: Experience in AUD Bond Syndicate.
