Associate/VP – Investments | Unilever

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Unilever Ventures, located in Mumbai, India. Unilever Ventures serves as the venture and growth capital arm of Unilever, investing in visionary entrepreneurs and innovative businesses. This role represents a critical step in the investment team structure, playing a key part in sourcing, evaluating, executing, and managing investments across India and Southeast Asia, while providing a clear pathway for professional growth.

• Mission: To identify, evaluate, execute, and manage strategic investments in emerging consumer and technology trends across India and Southeast Asia.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Deal Sourcing: Identify and originate investment opportunities across India and Southeast Asia through extensive networking with founders, investors, and industry stakeholders.
• Investment Evaluation: Lead commercial, financial, operational, and legal due diligence, developing financial models and valuation analyses.
• Investment Recommendations: Prepare high-quality investment memoranda and present recommendations to the Investment Committee.
• Portfolio Management: Support portfolio companies by acting as a Board Observer, helping shape strategic priorities, and identifying value-creation opportunities.
• Ecosystem Engagement: Strengthen relationships with co-investors, advisors, founders, and industry experts, representing Unilever Ventures at industry conferences and forums.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required, with core domain knowledge from Venture Capital, Growth Equity, Private Equity, Investment Banking, Management Consulting, or high-growth startup environments.
• Experience: 3-8 years of relevant experience in one or more of the specified fields.
• Skills: Strong financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis capabilities; experience conducting commercial and financial due diligence; exceptional analytical problem-solving skills and business judgment; strong written and verbal communication skills; strong relationship-building and networking capabilities.
• Bonus: MBA from a premier business school or Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification preferred; outstanding academic track record with additional distinctions; entrepreneurial mindset with a high degree of intellectual curiosity; deep interest in consumer behavior, emerging technologies, and market innovation; ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively.
