• Mission: This person originates and executes leveraged and structured financing solutions for financial sponsors and their portfolio companies, with a focus on India-linked transactions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Originate Opportunities: Build and deepen relationships with leading financial sponsors active in India, contributing to account planning and the origination of new financing opportunities across acquisition financing, holdco financing, refinancing, and structured credit solutions.
• Drive Deal Execution: Lead the preparation of high-quality pitch materials, market updates, and tailored financing proposals. Support the entire deal execution process, including structuring, internal approvals, comprehensive documentation, and successful closing.
• Coordinate Product Solutions: Structure bespoke financing solutions across the capital structure, encompassing senior debt, mezzanine, holdco financings, and hybrid instruments. Work closely with internal product partners like Leveraged Finance, Project Finance, Global Markets, Capital Markets Group, and Transaction Banking to deliver coordinated solutions, including INR loans, offshore facilities (ECB), NCDs, and HoldCo structures.
• Provide Market Insights: Maintain strong visibility on sponsor pipelines and transaction activity within India and across the broader region. Track and analyze market trends, including pricing, leverage levels, covenant structures, and competitive dynamics, to provide actionable market insights to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Structure transactions in strict adherence to regulatory frameworks, specifically RBI and ECB guidelines. Ensure compliance with MUFG’s stringent internal risk and credit standards, supporting the development of MUFG’s franchise with private equity sponsors and institutional investors.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is for an Associate or Vice President level professional in a front-office capacity. Candidates should possess a strong foundation in core financial domains, specifically leveraged finance, structured finance, sponsor coverage, or investment banking.
• Experience: A minimum of 6 to 10 years of direct experience in leveraged finance, structured finance, sponsor coverage, or investment banking is required. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in structuring and executing complex financing transactions within the financial services industry.
• Skills:
– Strong understanding of the India financing landscape, including ECB regulations, NCD markets, bank lending frameworks, and cross-border structures.
– Ability to operate effectively in a cross-border environment, demonstrating capability in managing multiple stakeholders across various geographies.
– Excellent communication, teamwork, and client engagement skills, aligned with MUFG’s culture of collaboration and integrity.
