The Tone:
This is a full-time role at BlackRock, located in Singapore. BlackRock utilizes the Preqin platform as a vital external data and intelligence resource for its private markets business. This role is crucial for enhancing Preqin’s comprehensive coverage across alternative assets like hedge funds, private equity, real estate, and infrastructure. By building strong relationships and sourcing high-quality proprietary data, this position enables BlackRock teams to access independent insights on fund performance, fundraising, and competitive positioning, supporting investment research, product development, and client engagement.

• Team: Part of a market-facing group of data and relationship specialists within the Preqin team.
• Mission: Strengthen Preqin’s data coverage and deliver high-quality insights to clients globally by building relationships with fund managers and sourcing proprietary data from Southeast Asia and South Asia.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Relationship Management: Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships with Southeast Asia and South Asia based fund managers through regular in-person and virtual engagement.
• Data Acquisition: Source and onboard proprietary data (performance, fundraising, and strategy data) through direct outreach and research, ensuring capture of information not available via public sources.
• Data Quality Assurance: Ensure data quality by proactively monitoring and maintaining the depth, accuracy, and timeliness of datasets.
• Market Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert and point of contact for the Southeast Asia alternatives industry.
• Strategic Collaboration: Partner with global and regional teams to implement global campaigns, identify coverage gaps, and develop effective data acquisition strategies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, data science, or a related field.
• Experience: 3-5 years of experience in business development, account management, or relationship-driven roles, with knowledge of the Southeast Asia private markets/alternatives industry.
• Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills; strong team orientation with exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills; high attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities; proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Bonus: Additional technical skills such as Python, SQL, or VBA.
