Portfolio Management – Valuations & Analytics, Associate | Blackstone
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Blackstone. Blackstone is the world’s largest alternative asset manager, managing over $1.3 trillion in assets. The firm strives to deliver compelling returns for institutional and individual investors by strengthening the companies in which it invests. This role within the Portfolio Management – Valuations & Analytics team is critical for preparing, evaluating, analyzing, and summarizing investment valuation results for the Blackstone Strategic Partners (BSP) and Blackstone Credit & Insurance (BXCI) groups, directly supporting strategic financial oversight and decision-making.

• Mission: Prepare, evaluate, analyze, and summarize portfolio investment valuation results for BSP secondary funds and BXCI’s insurance deals.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Performance Analysis: Review partners’ capital statements, aggregate results, and analyze trends to present the performance of secondary funds.
• Reporting & Communication: Prepare presentations, memos, and ad hoc analyses for senior leaders to inform decision-making.
• Valuation Application: Apply valuation methodologies consistent with Blackstone’s policy and external guidance to assess portfolio investments.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Attend and present at valuation committee meetings and other discussions with senior leaders across Finance, BSP, and BXCI.
• External Coordination: Coordinate valuation reviews with third-party valuation firms and address their inquiries to ensure accurate external validation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early career professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a similar discipline.
• Experience: 3+ years of private valuation experience gained in transaction services, a private equity fund, hedge fund, or a third-party valuation services provider.
• Skills: Knowledge of ASC 820 and relevant valuation guidance, expertise in discounted cash flow models and market multiples, proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, and strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Bonus: CFA and/or CPA certification, proficiency in iLevel, 73 Strings, or a similar valuation platform.
