Immigration Associate | Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC
The Tone:
This is an Associate position at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, located in Miami, FL. Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC is an AMLAW 200 firm with a dedicated Immigration Practice Group. This role offers an opportunity to deepen specialized immigration knowledge through direct client interaction on high-value matters. The position also allows for collaboration with attorneys across the firm’s Labor, Employment, Benefits, & Immigration Section.

• Mission: Solve complex immigration challenges for clients by providing expert legal advice and representation.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: A diverse caseload of immigration matters, including non-immigrant petitions, employment-based and family-based green cards, naturalization, waivers of inadmissibility, and I-9 compliance.
• Research: Immigration laws, regulations, and policies to deliver accurate and strategic advice to clients.
• Draft: Legal arguments, analyses, forms, and comprehensive petition packages, covering a range of visa types like H-1B, O-1, P-1, E-1, E-2, E-3, TN, L-1A/B, NIW, EB-1A, EB-1B, and EB-1C.
• Drive: Cases from initiation to conclusion with minimal supervision, exercising ownership and enhancing proficiency in all processing steps.
• Represent: Clients effectively during interviews before USCIS, and communicate with clients, government agencies, and other involved parties.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum qualification: Juris Doctor. Education requirement: Strong academic credentials and excellent knowledge of immigration law and practice.
• Experience: Previous immigration and labor and employment experience, specifically in employment-based immigration, including temporary visas and permanent residence processes.
• Skills: Strong research skills, creativity, innovative thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Admittance to practice in Florida is preferred.
