Associate Director, Data Management | Neurocrine Biosciences
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Neurocrine Biosciences, located in San Diego, CA. • Mission: Lead commercial data strategy and operations to deliver trusted, high-quality data for pipeline therapies.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, SQL, Python, IQVIA, Symphony, Definitive Healthcare, specialty pharmacy and distributor data (e.g., 852/867), digital marketing data sources, Komodo, MMIT/Norstella, Veeva Compass
What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Pipeline Data: Lead all commercial data management activities for pre-launch pipeline initiatives, specifically Osavampator and Direclidine, within the Commercial organization.
• Define Data Strategy: Define, own, and execute Neurocrine’s commercial data strategy and its multi-year roadmap, aligning with enterprise goals and business priorities.
• Establish Governance: Establish and govern key frameworks for data, including data governance, data purchasing decisions, operating procedures, and standards.
• Manage Data Operations: Oversee the budget and contracting processes for data management initiatives, such as data licensing agreements and third-party consulting engagements.
• Ensure Data Quality: Ensure high levels of data quality, integrity, accuracy, accessibility, and regulatory compliance across all data sets.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate Director level, requiring a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline with 10+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 8+ years of experience, in pharmaceutical or biotech Commercial Operations or Commercial Data Management.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of expert commercial data management experience, coupled with a strong understanding of the commercial biopharma data ecosystem. This includes a successful track record managing large, cross-functional technology and data initiatives, and proven experience handling patient-level data with familiarity in HIPAA and related regulatory requirements.
• Skills: Expertise in data management best practices, data quality monitoring, and remediation processes. Proficiency with data tools and languages such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, SQL, and Python. Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently, operate effectively in a matrixed environment, and translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
• Bonus: Master’s degree. Commercial data experience specifically in support of new product launches. Familiarity with digital marketing data sources.
