Associate Credit Analyst | Invesco

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Invesco, located in Atlanta, GA. As one of the world’s leading independent global investment firms, Invesco delivers a wide range of investment strategies and vehicles to clients by combining distinctive investment management capabilities. This role is crucial to the Global Liquidity Research team, supporting the investment process for Invesco’s liquidity portfolios through fundamental credit research, issuer surveillance, and investment recommendations. The analyst’s work directly contributes to issuer approvals, portfolio risk management, client engagement, and the broader Invesco Fixed Income investment process.

• Team: The Global Liquidity Research team supports the investment process for Invesco’s liquidity portfolios, working closely with portfolio managers and risk partners.
• Mission: Perform fundamental credit analysis of current and prospective issuers and securities to support investment recommendations and portfolio risk management for Global Liquidity portfolios.
• Tech Stack: Bloomberg, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-enabled productivity tools

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze Securities: Perform fundamental credit analysis of current and potential holdings, reviewing issuer financial condition, legal structure, business profile, liquidity profile, capital structure, investment suitability, and key credit risks.
• Develop Sector Expertise: Build and maintain deep sector expertise across assigned coverage areas, understanding issuer fundamentals, sector dynamics, market structure, regulatory developments, and market opportunities.
• Formulate Recommendations: Develop and articulate defensible credit recommendations and issuer reviews, supported by thorough financial analysis, market data, and internal or external research.
• Guide Investment Decisions: Serve as a member of the Global Liquidity Research Committee, contributing to the review and approval of issuers and securities for purchase by portfolio managers.
• Engage Stakeholders: Collaborate with portfolio managers and participate in broader Invesco Fixed Income sector teams, cultivating relationships with sell-side teams, rating agency analysts, and contribute to client-facing communications.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field, with a working knowledge of financial statement analysis, credit fundamentals, accounting concepts, market data, and investment research methods.
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in financial services, credit analysis, accounting, investment research, portfolio management, or a related analytical role, with proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and AI-enabled productivity tools.
• Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, intellectual curiosity, commitment to developing sector expertise, high standards of accuracy and integrity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities under time-sensitive conditions.
• Bonus: Progress toward CFA designation or an advanced degree is preferred, as is familiarity with money market funds, short-duration fixed income, SEC Rule 2a-7, rating agency methodologies, or investment management regulation.
