What You’ll Actually Do
• Litigation Management: Manage all phases of civil litigation, including discovery, hearings, trials, mediations, and drafting legal documents, while supporting senior counsel.
• Client Advising: Provide clear and reasoned legal opinions and strategic advice to Claims Representatives and insured clients, fostering strong relationships.
• Risk Mitigation: Identify, evaluate, and collaborate on strategies with clients and senior counsel to mitigate legal risks and facilitate effective resolutions.
• Documentation Oversight: Ensure all legal documents, pleadings, and motions are meticulously prepared, accurate, and compliant with applicable standards.
• Technology Utilization: Utilize e-discovery and case management technologies to streamline legal processes, improve efficiency, and coordinate effectively with remote teams.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB degree from an accredited law school, with general knowledge of insurance law.
• Experience: Admission to the California State Bar in good standing; demonstrated ability to manage civil litigation cases from inception to resolution under supervision.
• Skills: Strong analytical, research, and legal writing skills; proficient in e-discovery and case management systems; effective communication (written and oral) and persuasion skills; basic knowledge of negotiation techniques; organized with strong time management skills.
