Restaurant Assistant Manager – On Mountain Dining – Winter 26-27 | Aspen Skiing Company
The Tone:
This is a seasonal full-time role at Aspen Skiing Company, located on mountain within the Aspen Snowmass resort area. Aspen Skiing Company operates four premier mountains, a renowned ski and snowboard school, retail shops, and a collection of sustainably sourced on-mountain food and beverage outlets, all while upholding values of living fully and honoring place. This role is crucial for ensuring exceptional guest service, efficient daily operations, and high standards of food quality and cleanliness in an on-mountain restaurant, contributing to unforgettable guest experiences at a world-class destination.

• Mission: Owns ensuring a high level of guest service, efficient staff management, and upholding operational standards for on-mountain restaurant and bar services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations Oversight: Supervise and coordinate all restaurant staff, from guest seating to order taking and food delivery, ensuring overall efficient daily operations and a high level of guest service.
• Service Execution: Ensure food quality, cleanliness, and presentation consistently meet company standards, conducting daily pre-meal meetings and tastings with the Chef and Restaurant Manager to inform staff on menus and service.
• Staff Development & Administration: Train, motivate, and provide ongoing feedback to staff to maintain high service standards, while also maintaining records of employee needs, schedules, tip sheets, and Personal Action Forms (PAFs).
• Guest Relations & Resolution: Promptly and professionally handle all guest complaints and resolve service issues, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction and making immediate corrective action when guest needs are not met.
• Operational Compliance & Financials: Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and sanitation standards within the restaurant, and assist with critical opening and closing procedures including restaurant setup, cleanup, cash handling, and accurate processing of guest payments.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Manager level. Requires strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including service, food preparation, and sanitation standards, complemented by in-depth knowledge of food and beverage menus, ingredients, preparation, and presentation.
• Experience: A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a food service environment is required, with 2 years of experience in a supervisory role preferred.
• Skills: Excellent leadership and team management abilities to motivate and guide staff, strong communication skills for interacting effectively with guests, staff, and management, the ability to manage time effectively and multitask in a fast-paced environment, proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and restaurant management software, strong organizational skills for managing reservations, schedules, and inventory, and an intermediate level of skiing or snowboarding is required for this on-mountain role.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
