Electrical Assistant Project Manager | Bergelectric
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Bergelectric, a company specializing in electrical construction projects. Bergelectric is a large organization responsible for managing complex electrical installations across various sectors. This role is crucial for supporting Project Managers in the comprehensive oversight of electrical construction operations, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, within budget, and to high standards. The Assistant Project Manager directly contributes to the profitability and successful execution of an assigned portfolio of concurrent electrical projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Planning & Engineering: Coordinate engineering studies, change orders, and estimates with engineers, and engage with owners and clients on technical specifications during planning.
• Financial & Contract Oversight: Generate subcontracts and purchase orders, track job costs, predict monthly revenue, establish billing procedures, and resolve contract disputes with owners.
• Project Execution & Quality: Assist with the bid turnover and project startup process, manage Requests for Information (RFI), and implement quality control programs on projects.
• Documentation & Communication: Maintain online project document postings, manage document control and distribution, and cultivate relationships with vendors, clients, and trade partners.
• Project Closeout Management: Oversee the closeout and commissioning processes, including tracking subcontractor and vendor submissions to ensure timely completion of project documentation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience and knowledge in electrical construction, design, and cost management, specifically as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer on Commercial and Institutional projects, including preparing take-offs and estimates for change orders.
• Skills: Advanced ability to read and interpret plans and specifications; in-depth knowledge of NECA codes, TIA standards, NEC, and NFPA codes; proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint), Bluebeam, ChangeOrder, Accubid (or other estimation software), and BOS.
