The Tone:

This role is crucial for supporting financial administration and cost accounting activities for assigned construction projects. You will help implement company financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and accuracy in project financial reporting, contributing directly to the fiscal health and transparency of ongoing builds.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Accounting: Assist with and perform project accounting tasks, analyzing financial data for assigned projects using company systems.
• Invoice Management: Support timely Accounts Payable transactions through the Shared Service Organization (SSO) and review invoices for accurate cost coding.
• Month-End Close: Learn and perform assigned components of month-end close activities, including posting journal entries and reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Billing & Receivables: Support the preparation of project billings, monitor accounts receivable status, and escalate collection concerns as needed.
• Cost Forecasting: Participate in forecasting General Conditions/General Requirements (GR/GCs), staff, and labor projections to accurately predict costs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program in Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of related experience, with a basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial processes.
• Skills: Highly organized with accuracy and attention to detail, proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), and possessing professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Internship or co-op experience in accounting or finance, familiarity with financial systems (e.g., SAP), and a basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools for financial analysis.
