Unpaid Assistant Wedding Coordinator Intern | Leigh & Co. Events
The Tone:
This is a contract-based internship at Leigh & Co. Events. Leigh & Co. Events is a fast-growing wedding planning company that specializes in comprehensive wedding design, meticulous wedding coordination, and full-service planning tailored for engaged couples. This position presents an exciting opportunity for individuals who are enthusiastic and deeply interested in developing a professional career in wedding planning. Interns will receive training and gain invaluable hands-on experience, working directly alongside seasoned planners at a variety of real weddings and special events, with a clear path to potentially grow into future Lead Planner roles within the company.

• Mission: To provide essential on-site support during weddings and special events, directly assisting the Lead Planner with critical aspects such as seamless event execution, superior client service, efficient vendor coordination, and overall smooth wedding day logistics.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Event Execution & Professional Support: Actively assist Lead Planners in the comprehensive execution of wedding days and special events, ensuring all plans are followed precisely while representing Leigh & Co. Events professionally to clients, guests, and vendors.
• Setup & Aesthetic Management: Oversee and participate in the meticulous setup of ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception spaces, including the precise placement of décor items and management of other event details as directed by the Lead Planner.
• Timeline Adherence & Coordination: Support the seamless flow of events by diligently tracking wedding timelines, ensuring all scheduled activities stay on track, and assisting with the organization and coordination of the wedding party.
• Vendor & Guest Facilitation: Welcome and provide essential assistance to vendors during their arrival, setup, and breakdown processes, while also offering helpful support and answering questions for guests throughout the event.
• On-Site Logistics & Breakdown: Help troubleshoot any minor issues or last-minute changes that may arise during an event, and assist with the efficient breakdown, including the careful packing of décor, gifts, and personal items for clients.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is designed for enthusiastic early career individuals or students who possess a strong interest in the wedding industry and aspire to become professional wedding planners.
• Experience: No prior professional experience in wedding planning is explicitly required, as comprehensive training will be provided to ensure interns gain hands-on experience working at real events.
• Skills: Candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, possess an exceptional eye for detail, be highly organized and dependable, and have the essential ability to work weekends with reliable transportation.
