Job Description: Assistant General Counsel – Employment
This position requires a seasoned employment attorney with extensive experience in both litigation and counseling. The attorney will work closely with corporate and local leadership across the Prime Healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the company’s high volume of employment lawsuits.
• Provide strategic guidance to key stakeholders on employment issues.
• Handle wrongful termination claims, wage and hour class actions, PAGA claims, and discrimination claims.
Required Qualifications:
• J.D. from ABA Accredited Law School.
• Member in Good Standing of the State Bar of California.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of prior legal experience in law firm, public sector, and/or in-house position.
• Must have trial or arbitration hearing experience, preferably with some experience as first chair.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the healthcare industry, preferably with hospitals.
Compensation & Benefits:
Prime Healthcare offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and more. The estimated annual compensation range for this role is $153,753.60 to $249,600.00. Actual starting compensation will be determined based on factors such as skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
