This is an early career role at Superior, located in Columbus, Ohio. This role is crucial for supporting project operations and finance teams by monitoring project costs, analyzing budget variances, and ensuring financial accuracy. The Assistant Financial Analyst will contribute directly to project success by identifying cost-saving opportunities and providing essential financial reporting.

• Mission: Supports project operations and finance teams by tracking costs, analyzing budgets, and providing financial insights to ensure project success and accuracy.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cost Analysis: Analyze project costs and track budget variances to identify deviations from planned expenditures.
• Projection Support: Assist project managers in preparing monthly cost projection templates.
• System Auditing: Audit new project setups within the accounting system to ensure accuracy.
• Closeout Monitoring: Monitor the monthly job closeout process for financial completeness.
• Reporting & Support: Support project operations and field teams with financial reporting and other ad hoc requests.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience or an internship completed in project/operations finance, FP&A, or a related field.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, organized, strong attention to detail, great communicator.
• Bonus: Familiarity with Finance or Project Management in the construction industry; experience building financial models in Excel and using Power BI or other data visualization and analytics tools.
