Assistant Clinical Director | Mental Health America of Los Angeles
The Tone:
This is a leadership role, supporting clinic operations at Mental Health America of Los Angeles. The organization aims to improve and expand access to quality mental health care. This role is crucial for ensuring clinical excellence, supporting staff, and maintaining the smooth functioning of the clinic under the guidance of the Regional Clinic Director.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Clinical Leadership: Participate in weekly Clinic Director meetings and provide weekly individual and bi-weekly group supervision for master’s level clinicians.
• Consultation & Review: Offer consultation to therapy staff regarding caseload management and clinical documentation standards.
• Administrative Support: Partner with the Regional Clinic Director to support administrative needs, including staff development, coordination of hiring processes, and office supply orders.
• Operational Oversight: Assist the Regional Clinic Director with monitoring and managing clinic office schedules and providing timely responses to concerns raised by clients and clinicians.
• Clinical Caseload & Backup: Maintain an agreed-upon clinical client caseload and serve as the back-up for the Regional Clinic Director when they are out of the office.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Master’s Degree or higher in a mental health discipline, with an independently issued clinical practice license in MA (e.g., LISCW, LMHC, Psy.D, Ph.D).
• Experience: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and executive skills. Demonstrated working knowledge of state requirements regulating mental health practice and human resource principles, practices, and procedures.
• Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Proven ability to meet deadlines and function well in a high-paced and changing environment.
