Artificial Intelligence Engineering Intern

Role Overview

As an AI Engineering Intern at Avanade, you’ll join client-facing delivery teams to help build intelligent, data-driven solutions that support better business decisions. This internship is designed for students nearing graduation who are excited about applying AI, analytics, and software fundamentals to real-world consulting challenges.

You’ll gain hands-on experience working with AI, data, and analytics tools, while collaborating with experienced consultants and engineers in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

What You’ll Do

With guidance and mentorship, you will:

• Support project teams developing AI-enabled and data-driven customer solutions.
• Contribute to exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, insights, and business opportunities.
• Apply foundational knowledge of statistics, programming, and data modeling to support AI and analytics use cases.
• Assist with building and refining analytical models, pipelines, or prototypes used in client solutions.
• Provide input on data visualization techniques and storytelling opportunities to communicate insights.
• Stay current with trends in AI, Generative AI, cloud computing, and big data.
• Collaborate with global, cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, client-facing solutions.
• Communicate technical and analytical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or similar).
• Academic standing: Senior, with an expected graduation date in 2026 or 2027.
• Coursework or hands-on experience (academic, personal projects, or internships) related to:
  • Data analysis, AI, or machine learning concepts.
  • Programming and analytical problem-solving.
• Experience or exposure to:
  • Python.
  • Analytics or visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, Tableau, R, SAS, SPSS).
  • AI / GenAI technologies (e.g., LLMs, OpenAI, AI Foundry) is a plus.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work in English.
• Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, consulting environment.
• Interest in pursuing a full-time career in technology consulting after graduation.

Compensation at Avanade varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
