Fulfillment Area Manager Intern 2026 – AZ, UT, NM, TX, OK, NV | Amazon
The Tone:
This is a ten-week, in-person internship during the summer of 2026, located within one of Amazon’s fulfillment centers, sort centers, delivery stations, or other operations buildings across Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, or Nevada. Amazon operates a massive, customer-focused supply chain, connecting millions of products with customers daily through a vast network of facilities and dedicated employees. This internship is designed to develop future operational leaders, providing extensive training and hands-on experience in coaching, motivating, and mentoring teams of hourly employees in a fast-paced environment. Your contribution will directly support the efficiency and continuous improvement of Amazon’s core logistics operations, fostering a collaborative leadership style.
The TL;DR

• Type: Full-time role (10-week internship, 40 hours per week)
• Location: In-person, AZ, UT, NM, TX, OK, NV (specific site placement determined after interview, relocation and housing assistance provided if eligible)
• Pay: $28.85 hourly
• Mission: Learn to lead and develop a team of hourly associates in a warehouse environment while driving continuous improvement through a dedicated summer project.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Team Operations: Learn to coach, manage, and develop a team of 50-100 Amazon Associates, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Drive Process Improvement: Spearhead an intern project focused on driving standard work and continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating closely with site leadership.
• Manage Warehouse Flow: Oversee truck deliveries, meticulously handle and sort packages, and be prepared to operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment at applicable facilities or step in as needed.
• Maintain Production Presence: Work independently in an autonomous environment while having on-the-production-floor conversations, frequently standing and walking during shifts up to 12 hours.
• Perform Physical Tasks: Regularly perform physical activities including lifting up to 49 pounds, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs where applicable, in an environment with varying noise levels.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program with all requirements anticipated to be completed between December 2026 and August 2027.
• Experience: Ability to commit to a 10-week, 40-hour per week internship during the summer of 2026, including willingness and ability to regularly work shift patterns that may include nights, weekends, and/or holidays based on business needs.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Bonus: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program for Supply Chain, Business/Management, Engineering, or another related field.
