Internship Program Details:

  • Program Dates: May 2026 through August 2026
  • Location: Houston, Texas (Buildings Practice)
  • Collaboration: Interns will collaborate across our interdisciplinary, North American Buildings practice.

Who We Are Seeking:

We are seeking passionate interns with excellent design, modeling, organizational, and communication skills. These skills are essential for effective interaction within a multidisciplinary team of architectural, engineering, and interior design professionals. Successful interns will possess the creativity, curiosity, motivation, and technical skills necessary to create conceptual models and advance design ideas collaboratively with a team.

Our Summer Internship Program Includes:

Designed to provide comprehensive exposure to the industry, leaders, and valuable work experience in support of licensure hours:

  • Internship Program Kick-off Day
  • Project site visits
  • Cross-office Internship Project
  • Educational lunch & learns/seminars
  • Participation in design presentations and dialogues

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support the multi-disciplinary team in developing designs, schematic sketches/diagrams, and documentation drawings.
  • Assist in the preparation of design presentations.
  • Utilize BIM software as a primary tool for design drawings.
  • Facilitate and ensure the quality of project deliverables.
  • Follow production guidelines and project standards as outlined in the department drafting standards manual.
  • Provide CAD drafting and design assistance for a wide variety of projects, from the report stage through design and construction administration.
  • Assist in the resolution of technical issues on construction sites.
  • Effectively contribute to team efforts within the project team.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • A strong passion for design and our profession.
  • Revit experience is preferred.
  • Experience with design software (Sketch-up, Photoshop, and Illustrator, etc.) is preferred.
  • Ability to hand sketch and effectively communicate concepts and ideas to others.
  • Ability to actively participate and collaborate in a project team setting.
  • Ability to engage in creative and critical thought processes.
  • Ability to interpret sketches, drawings, building programs, and other similar material.
  • Ability to communicate abstract ideas effectively (verbally and in writing).

Education and Experience

  • Working towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in support of an Architectural license is required.
  • Completion of your junior year is preferred.

Please Note: We are specifically looking for someone who is currently pursuing an Architectural degree from an accredited school. If you have already graduated, please explore other full-time positions on our website that may be more suitable for your qualifications.

Work Environment

Typical office environment involving computer work and remaining sedentary for extended periods. Field work may include exposure to various elements, including inclement weather conditions.

Pay Transparency & Benefits

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. Certain roles at Stantec are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
