Job Description: Architectural Intern (Summer)
EwingCole is seeking an Architectural Intern for their Wayne office for the summer. This internship offers the opportunity to develop diverse architectural expertise, including:
• Planning: Contributing to the overall project planning process.
• Design: Participating in the conceptualization and development of building designs.
• Construction Technology: Gaining experience in construction methods and technologies.
• Documentation: Assisting in the preparation of construction documents.
• Construction Administration: Supporting the project team during the construction phase.
Job Responsibilities:
The intern will assist the Project Architect, Project Designer, and/or Project Manager in various tasks, including:
• Client Communication: Helping communicate and articulate design concepts to clients.
• Graphic & Technical Support: Providing graphic and technical support to the project team.
• Professional Development: Working towards professional registration and career growth.
• Marketing Support: Assisting in the preparation of design documents and presentation materials for marketing efforts.
• Schematic Design & Design Development: Collaborating on the creation of buildings that meet client needs and desired aesthetics. This includes:
• Developing 3D renderings for internal review and client presentations.
• Attending design presentations.
• Participating in design review presentations and project coordination meetings.
• Construction Document Development: Working with senior technical staff to develop construction documents, including BIM model management using Revit. This involves:
• Preparing details that articulate the project design.
• Coordinating with engineering disciplines (civil, landscape) and interior design teams to maintain design consistency.
• Supporting the construction administration team as needed.
• Other Duties: Performing other duties and responsibilities as required.
Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Architecture program.
• Architectural Experience Program (AXP) eligibility or in the process of attaining professional registration.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Rhino, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite.
• Superior graphic design, building design, and conceptualization skills.
• Experience with hand drawing and sketching.
• Strong communication skills.
• Detail-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior summer internships or entry-level experience.
• Currently enrolled in a Master of Architecture program.
