- Emphasizes systems thinking and connects environmental science to public health, urban planning, and international policy.
- Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction:
- Familiar with the AP Environmental Science curriculum across its nine units and common student challenges, such as calculating ecological footprints, distinguishing point from nonpoint pollution sources, and analyzing free-response data sets.
- Adapts instruction using field study examples, current environmental news, and AP-style practice to support students with varying science backgrounds seeking interdisciplinary understanding.
- Effective Teaching Methods:
- Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with and explain material using multiple approaches.
- Adept at adapting instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
- Possess strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
