### The Role: Analytics Engineering Intern
As an Analytics Engineering Intern, you will be fully integrated into teams that are crucial for scaling the Netflix application platform to its massive and diverse device ecosystem. ### Essential Qualifications (Must-Haves)
To be considered for this internship, candidates must demonstrate the following core qualifications:
• Academic Enrollment: Currently enrolled in a full-time accredited academic program (M.S., or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• Graduation Timeline: Graduating in December 2026, Summer 2027, or later.
• Internship Eligibility: Must be returning to school for one semester or quarter post-Summer internship.
• Data Analysis Experience: Hands-on keyboard experience with practical data analysis projects.
• Data Science Tech Stack Proficiency: High proficiency in the standard data science tech stack, including libraries and tools for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and scripting.
• Distributed Systems Expertise: Experience leveraging distributed systems (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, or cloud-native data warehousing solutions) for processing large-scale datasets.
• SQL Proficiency: Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, manipulating, and extracting data from various databases and data warehouses.
• Programming Skills: Experienced in Python or Java for scripting, data processing, and ETL pipeline development.
• Data Modeling: Hands-on experience building intuitive schemas and data models for datasets, ensuring data is structured, organized, and optimized for analytical querying and reporting.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, vital for working effectively within cross-functional teams and presenting insights.

### Your Internship Responsibilities
As an Analytics Engineering Intern, you will have the unique opportunity to take ownership of an end-to-end analytics project or tool. Your responsibilities will typically include:
• Data Pipeline Development: Designing, building, and maintaining robust data pipelines to collect, process, and analyze large and complex data sets from diverse sources, ensuring timely, accurate, and scalable data availability.
• Data Modeling & Productization: Defining foundational data models and working towards the productization of final analytical tools, transforming raw data into meaningful, accessible, and production-ready analytical assets.
• Data Analysis & Anomaly Detection: Analyzing request patterns, identifying new signals, performing anomaly detection, and recommending adjustments based on quantified impact to proactively monitor system health and performance.
• Data Visualization & Dashboards: Creating insightful data visualizations and dashboards using tools like Tableau to help stakeholders easily understand and act upon data, empowering them with self-service analytics.
• Collaborative Design: Collaborating closely with engineers during the development process to gather feedback and iterate on design improvements for data products.
