Analyst – Core Trade Finance Financial Institutions – Global Transaction Banking | TD Securities

The Tone:
This is a full-time, early-career Analyst role at TD Securities, located in New York, NY. TD Securities provides a wide range of capital market products and services to corporate, government, and institutional clients across key global financial centers. This position is a crucial entry point into a client coverage-focused career in finance, primarily supporting the Trade Finance Financial Institutions portfolio by managing Letters of Credit and acting as a key coordination point between global banking partners and internal stakeholders, directly contributing to the firm’s Global Transaction Banking growth.

• Mission: Manages the issuance of Letters of Credit involving global correspondent banking partners and acts as a key coordination point between external counterparties and internal TD stakeholders.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Correspondent Banking Coordination: Act as a primary coordination point with global correspondent banking partners on inbound and outbound transactions, ensuring timely execution and clear communication.
• Transaction Management & Analysis: Manage the day-to-day execution of Letter of Credit requests, coordinating internal stakeholders, performing pricing assessments, and maintaining a comprehensive transaction tracker.
• Reporting & Insights: Prepare and present quarterly revenue and activity reporting decks, summarizing volumes, revenues, trends, and pipeline for management review.
• Origination & Client Support: Assist a client-focused origination team by understanding client needs, reviewing financial statements, and supporting the execution of trade finance strategy.
• New Business Facilitation: Prepare presentations, engage in client calls, assist in term sheet negotiation, and facilitate facility approval and documentation for new business opportunities.

• Background: Junior to early-career entry point with a deep intellectual curiosity and a passion for corporate finance and technology. General awareness of global financial markets, geopolitical developments, and familiarity with corporate financial statements.
• Experience: No specific years mentioned; strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, with the flexibility to adapt to changing priorities; ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret transaction economics, pricing, and basic risk considerations; advanced Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel); ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing; strong interpersonal skills.
• Bonus: Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity or data tools, understanding of commercial or corporate lending, familiarity with credit facility documentation, client facing experience.
