Analyst / Associate, Credit Management | Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, located in Sydney, Melbourne or Perth. This role is a key part of Oceania’s Credit Management team, playing an important role in achieving the Bank’s risk and return targets through supporting the origination and management of new and existing corporate and institutional customers.

The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: In-person – Sydney, Melbourne or Perth
• Team: Oceania’s Credit Management (CM) team within Global Corporate & Investment Banking (GCIB) division
• Mission: Support the origination and management of new and existing corporate and institutional customers, as well as offshore subsidiaries, to achieve the Bank’s risk and return targets.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft products, data, research, AI-enabled tools (such as Copilot)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Account Management: Conduct annual credit reviews and internal rating reviews as per internal guidelines and policies, and monitor covenant compliance and adherence to policy updates.
• Transaction Support: Support Relationship Managers and Portfolio Leads on the credit approval process of new transactions, including deal structuring and preparing credit submissions.
• Financial Analysis: Perform historical and forward-looking financial and industry analysis to assess customer credit and risk profiles.
• Portfolio Management: Support the CM team in managing the wider portfolio, including a focus on sector risk/return and other strategic review processes.
• Operational Compliance: Prepare client presentations and manage compliance with internal processes and policies, while also coordinating with onshore and offshore MUFG teams for timely delivery of credit activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate Business / Commerce / Law Degree; minimum of 1 year for Analyst level or 4 years for Associate level in corporate and institutional lending or debt advisory.
• Experience: 1 to 7 years gained from corporate and institutional lending, debt advisory, credit rating agencies, advisory houses, investment management firms, or corporate treasury teams. Demonstrated experience in credit writing, financial analysis and modelling, and legal documentation and debt structuring.
• Skills: Clear written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal and presentation skills, an analytical mindset with problem-solving skills, and the ability to engage in independent research and critical thinking with attention to detail.
• Bonus: Masters of Finance, MBA or CFA. Comfort using data, research and AI-enabled tools (such as Copilot). Curiosity about businesses, industries and market dynamics.
