Analyst, Index Portfolio Management | Nasdaq

The Tone:
This is an early career, full-time hybrid role at Nasdaq, located in Philadelphia, PA. Nasdaq develops and manages financial products and solutions that are used by clients around the world, built upon sophisticated index models. This role is essential for ensuring the precision and integrity of these products by supporting the development, execution, and validation of the underlying index models that determine security selection and portfolio allocation.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop Index Expertise: Learn how index rebalances and reconstitutions work, developing expertise in indexing, benchmarking, and financial data over time.
• Execute Index Models: Execute periodic index reconstitution and rebalance models using documented workflows and runbooks.
• Validate Model Outputs: Perform independent review and validation of model outputs and underlying data sets to ensure accuracy and methodology adherence.
• Improve Documentation and Processes: Maintain process documentation for data sources, indexes, and workflows, and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate on Enhancements: Collaborate with internal and external partners to communicate findings and support product and infrastructure enhancements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Recently completed or final-year student in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience: 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills, clear communication, technical proficiency in R, Databricks and SQL, highly self-motivated with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
