Analyst/Associate, Board Advisory & Opinions – New York | Houlihan Lokey

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Houlihan Lokey, located in New York, NY. • Mission: Supports client engagements and business development by providing in-depth financial analysis, valuation, and modeling services for advisory and opinion mandates.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis: Analyze and explain historical and projected financial information for various clients and engagements.
• Due Diligence: Perform comprehensive business and financial due diligence to inform advisory services and transaction opinions.
• Valuation Expertise: Value companies, businesses, and securities to support financial advice and various transaction opinions.
• Financial Modeling: Build complex financial models to assess cash flows, value specific securities, and support negotiating or advocacy positions.
• Presentation Development: Assist (Analyst) or prepare (Associate) board and special committee presentations that support the firm’s advice and opinions.
• Business Development: Help pitch new engagements and actively participate in broader business development initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An undergraduate degree with academic distinction and/or a graduate degree, combined with prior experience in investment banking, valuation, or a related financial services field.
• Experience: At least one year of financial services experience for Analyst candidates, and at least three years for Associate candidates, with at least one year specifically in investment banking, valuation, or a related role. Associates must also have experience managing analysts or other personnel.
• Skills: Advanced accounting, finance, financial modeling, and analytical abilities; strong qualitative and quantitative research skills (for Analysts); and excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Bonus: A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and build relationships with all levels of staff and clients.
