Payroll Specialist (Entry Level) | Nova 401(k) Associates

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Nova 401(k) Associates, located in Houston, TX, initially in-office with a hybrid option after a probationary period. Nova 401(k) Associates and its division, AMP, are a vibrant and growing national third-party administration firm that delivers solutions to group 402(a) and PEPs. This position is vital for supporting Account Managers and executing essential administrative and transactional processing tasks, contributing to the smooth operation and growth of 401(k) plans.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Payroll Submissions: Perform payroll file submission at various record-keepers.
• Transaction Processing: Perform force out and RMD determination and processing.
• File Preparation: Prepare annual and mid-year census files.
• Reconciliation: Prepare contribution reconciliations.
• Review and Support: Perform Payroll and Distribution Review and provide Account Manager Support.

• Background: Bachelor’s degree required, with a commitment to lifelong learning.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required; the position is entry-level with paid training provided.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organizational skills, ability to work in a team environment, flexibility, adaptability, and excellent multi-tasking skills.
• Bonus: Prior work experience in an office setting is a plus, and prior customer service experience is also a plus.
