The Tone:
This is an early career, hybrid role at Ally, located in Detroit, MI. Ally is a customer-centric, leading digital financial services company focused on doing right by its customers and people. This program is designed to develop future accounting leaders by providing recent college graduates with a cross-functional, enterprise-wide learning experience within the Controller’s function, offering an alternate path to obtaining the CPA designation while working full-time.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Business Unit & Enterprise Accounting: Perform accounting and reporting for Ally business lines and enterprise functions, including Automotive Finance, Corporate Finance, Ally Invest, and Corporate Consolidations.
• Tax Accounting, Planning & Reporting: Prepare tax provisions and related disclosures, forecast tax expense, file tax returns, and evaluate the impact of tax laws.
• Financial Controls: Design, plan, and execute testing over internal controls, manage the governance of account reconciliations, and efficiently resolve internal control matters.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare reports filed with the SEC (Forms 10-K/Q, 8-K) and various documents for regulatory and industry reporting, coordinating with external auditors.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-level professionals pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Business Administration, with a Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience: 0+ years of experience, graduating between June 2026 and July 2027.
• Skills: Demonstrated academic aptitude, quantitative skills, intrinsic motivation, creative problem-solving, and advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Bonus: Plans to obtain CPA and previous accounting internship experience is preferred.
